Summary
Dentons Davis Brown is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Administrative Assistant/Paralegal to support attorneys in our Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights practice. This hybrid position will perform a combination of substantive paralegal work and administrative support and is ideal for someone who enjoys managing matters from both a legal and operational perspective.
The successful candidate will be comfortable managing deadlines, drafting and filing legal documents, communicating with clients, and handling a variety of administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor bankruptcy dockets and client servicing systems, maintain case calendars, track deadlines and referrals, and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Draft, revise, proofread, and prepare bankruptcy pleadings, correspondence, notices, Monthly Operating Reports, Proofs of Claim, bankruptcy schedules, and other legal documents.
- Review and analyze loan documents, payment histories, pleadings, and other case-related documentation.
- File pleadings and other documents through PACER, EDMS, and other applicable electronic filing systems, and research local filing rules and requirements as needed.
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings and court reporters, coordinate appointments, and assist with other day-to-day administrative needs.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, counsel, trustees, sheriffs’ offices, financial institutions, and other parties regarding case status, documentation, deadlines, garnishments, service, and other matter-related needs.
- Coordinate new matter referrals, conflict checks, matter openings, signature packets, and other client documentation.
- Organize and maintain electronic matter files, client referral and tracking systems, templates, and client-specific reporting.
- Prepare and coordinate bankruptcy and collections-related mailings, service, courier delivery, and shipments, including certificates of mailing.
- Assist with conference registrations, CLE submissions, reservations, reimbursements, and other practice-group administrative needs.
- Provide general administrative and backup support to attorneys and other legal support professionals as needed.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Prior experience in a law firm or legal environment preferred; bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, or similar experience is strongly preferred.
- General knowledge of legal procedures and terminology; experience with PACER and electronic court filing systems preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication, drafting, proofreading, and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple matters, competing priorities, and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with the ability to learn and adapt to legal and client-specific technology systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality and providing both substantive paralegal and administrative support.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of legal administrative experience required; 2–3 years preferred

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds at a time.

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
