PRIMARY PURPOSE:To work as a member of the Child Care Center team in providing a high level of childcare for the centers children through providing safe, healthy and nurturing environment through social, emotional and cognitive learning experiences for the children.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
Minimum age of 18 years
High School diploma or equivalent
High moral character and integrity
Must pass district health standards for position
Special Knowledge/Skills
Mental Demands:Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interprets policy, procedures and data; coordinates district functions; maintains emotional control under stress.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Potential prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions. Must be able to safely lift and carry infants to and from the changing table, change the infants diaper, administer parent aut orized medication and/or attend to infants needs at the changing table and assure the childs safety and security while on the changing table.
Minimum Starting Pay: $16.35 *Depending on experience

- Effectively communicate with children, parents, administrator, co-workers, and board members in writing and verbally.
- Must have a positive attitude
- Create lesson plans that follow curriculum and are developmentally appropriate
- Keep working area clean and organized.
- Work indoors and outdoors in conditions that can include heat, cold and loud constant noise.
- Bend, crawl, kneel, sit on the floor and squat with ease.
- Lift and carry a min of 50 lbs.
- Engage in frequent, positive interactions with all people.
- Treat all people with respect.
- Model and Encourage language development in children through group times, songs, and daily reading.
- Treat all ethnic groups equally and provide equal opportunities for both sexes.
- Model and use positive guidance and discipline techniques
- Correct and redirect children firmly and calmly.

- Prepare and follow weekly lesson plans that match school-wide units
- Make modifications based on the needs of individual students
- Make observations and assessment for each student
- Responsible for the upkeep of child's portfolio
- Provide a balance of indoor/ outdoor, quiet/ active, individual/ small and large group activities
- Responsible for classroom arrangement; must have defines areas and rotation of center items/toys
- Articulate appropriately to the general public the centers goals and objectives
- Participate in community activities that foster rapport and mutual respect between the center and the community
- Seek out, accept, and respond appropriately to feedback from supervisors and co-workers
- Use information provided in evaluations to improve performance
- Obtain CPR and first aid certification. Obtain 20 hours of continuing education each year.
- Attend staff meeting and training as scheduled
- Adhere promptly to schedule and maintain good attendance. Provide adequate notification for an absence. A doctors note may be required if absent for two or more days
- Must have knowledge of children in care at all times.
- Inform teacher and support staff of incidents/accidents that occurred on that day
- Write incident/accident reports honestly, detailed, and in a timely manner.
- Keep inventory of classroom materials
- Keep classroom clean and in an orderly manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned
