Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Pay Family: Professional/Administrators

Pay Grade: 01

Minimum Salary: $58,540

Duty Days: 230 days per year

 

This position is grant-funded, and continuation is dependent upon satisfactory performance, availability of grant funds, and program needs.

 

Primary Purpose:

Provides student support and mentoring from intake through education, training, certification and employment; facilitates and guides enrollment for students through workforce training programs and college; coordinates with the workforce, college, and other stakeholders to recruit and support participants; liaison with workforce partners for labor market information and local area employment trends; tracks student attendance, behavior, progress, and provide interventions for success; works with students to develop and update individual training, education and career plans with short and long term goals; liaison with college and training providers for developing career pathway programs.

 

Qualifications:

Education and Certification

  • Bachelor's degree required

 

Experience

  • Two (2) years of working experience in Education (Adult Education & Literacy preferred)

Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed to support student needs and be a liaison for AEL, colleges and training providers; must hold necessary degree, have sufficient computer and communication skills and have the ability to multi-task to meet the needs of the Adult Education and Literacy Grant goals

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assists, develops, coordinates, and implements recruitment and marketing materials for integrated career pathway program.
  • Advertise and recruit students for the career pathways courses.
  • Attend training related to Adult Education and Literacy, specifically in CPW.
  • Liaison with workforce partners for labor market information and local area employment trends.
  • Liaison with college and training providers for developing career pathway programs.
  • Establishes positive and trusting relationships with students.
  • Coordinates and/or provides supportive services to support academic persistence and success.
  • Provides information on targeted career and educational pathways and assists students with career research and planning.
  • Monitors student progress, attendance, and behavior and meets with students regarding academic progress.
  • Implements and maintains student follow-up post-exit to comply with program data collecting requirements.
  • Develops opportunities for students to gain real-world information and exposure to targeted career pathways.
  • Helps update navigator program resources.
  • Tracks and reports student participation in group and individual sessions with Navigators.
  • Compiles, maintains, and files all required physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents.
  • Maintains an accurate knowledge base and complies with state, district, federal, AEL, and school policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.
  • Works with adult learners to develop and update individual training, education, and career plans with short and long-term goals.
  • Creates and maintains up-to-date college and career pathways information based on local workforce needs and advises students and instructors on college and career choices.
  • Integrates College and Career Readiness Standards into AE curriculum.
  • Evaluates and maintains records such as test scores and statistics, class contact hours, attendance, instructor comments, and class grades.
  • Assists students, NTAEL staff, and partner agency staff with issues arising in the classroom and provides solutions with measurable outcomes.

 

Other Related Duties:

  • Follows district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Participates in professional development, faculty/department meetings, and special events as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Tools and Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide and occasional statewide travel

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
