Primary Purpose:
Oversee and support campus extended school day (ESD) programming to ensure a safe, engaging, and well-managed environment for students. Coordinate daily program operations, supervise staff, support student behavior and enrichment activities, and maintain effective communication with parents, campus staff, and district personnel.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in education or a related field
Experience
- Two (2) years of experience in extended school day programs, after-school programs, childcare programs, elementary education, or related student-focused programs
- Experience working directly with pre-kindergarten through grade 5 students
- Experience supervising staff or coordinating student programs (preferred)
- Experience training, coaching, or supporting staff (preferred)
Knowledge and Skills
- Working knowledge of student supervision, behavior management, and extended learning programs
- Proficient organizational, communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient skill in utilizing digital devices and software applications, including Microsoft Office applications and Google Workspace
- Ability to supervise staff, manage schedules, and maintain program operations in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, campus staff, and community partners
- Ability to maintain accurate records, reports, and payroll-related documentation
- Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel among assigned campuses and program sites
Key Responsibilities:
Program Operations & Student Support
- Oversee daily operations of the extended school day program to ensure student safety, supervision, and program effectiveness
- Support the implementation of academic, enrichment, recreational, and social activities for participating students
- Assist with student behavior support and maintain appropriate supervision during program activities
- Coordinate special activities, events, field trips, guest speakers, and enrichment opportunities
- Monitor program facilities, equipment, and cleanliness to maintain safe and organized learning environments
Staff Supervision & Program Support
- Recruit, train, supervise, and support extended school day program staff
- Assist with staff scheduling, attendance tracking, substitute coordination, and payroll-related documentation
- Provide training and ongoing support related to program expectations, safety procedures, and student supervision
- Conduct campus visits and monitor program operations to ensure consistency and compliance with district expectations
- Collaborate with the Student Support Services Coordinator to support oversight, consistency, and implementation of extended school day programming
Parent, Campus, & Community Relations
- Maintain effective communication with parents regarding program operations, student concerns, and program expectations
- Collaborate with campus staff and district personnel to support student needs and program operations
- Coordinate with community organizations and external partners to support extended school day programming opportunities
Program Management & Compliance
- Assist with the implementation and evaluation of procedures and practices to support the continuous improvement of extended school day programs
- Maintain accurate program records, reports, and required documentation
- Support budget monitoring, program expenditures, and operational processes assigned
- Assist with ensuring compliance with district procedures, safety requirements, and operational expectations
Additional Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all district policies, procedures, and expectations as outlined in the employee handbook and administrative regulations
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Participate in professional development, faculty/department meetings, and special events as assigned
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of the department and district
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise, evaluate, and provide work direction for assigned extended school day program staff

Tools and Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May require occasional evening or extended hours to support program operations; occasional districtwide and statewide travel
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
