Job Summary
The Treatment Plan/Insurance Coordinator plays a vital role in our practice by guiding patients through their treatment journey and helping them understand and utilize their insurance benefits. This individual is a key liaison between the dentist and the patient, ensuring that patients have a clear understanding of their treatment needs, the associated costs, and their financial options. The Treatment Plan/Insurance Coordinator is responsible for presenting treatment plans, coordinating financial arrangements, and managing all aspects of dental insurance. This role is essential to our commitment to providing transparent and patient-centered care.
Duties
- Presents treatment plans to patients, explaining the recommended procedures, the timeline, and the importance of the treatment to their oral health.
•Discusses financial options with patients, including insurance coverage, payment plans, and financing options, to ensure they can comfortably proceed with treatment.
•Verifies patients' insurance eligibility and benefits using our practice management software, Open Dental, and other online resources.
•Submits and tracks dental insurance claims, ensuring timely processing and payment.
•Posts insurance payments accurately in Open Dental and follows up on any outstanding claims.
•Acts as the primary point of contact for patients with questions about their treatment plans, insurance coverage, or financial arrangements.
•Coordinates with the clinical team to ensure a seamless patient experience from diagnosis to treatment completion.
•Maintains a comprehensive understanding of dental terminology, ADA codes, and insurance billing practices.
•Upholds the practice's values of prioritizing the patient and fostering a healthy work environment in all interactions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or relevant certification is a plus.
•A minimum of 2 years of experience in a dental office setting, with a strong understanding of dental insurance and treatment planning.
•Proficiency with dental practice management software, preferably Open Dental.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and compassionately.
•Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
