Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment, adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth chairside support
- Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging such as 3D scans while maintaining proper safety standards and HIPAA compliance
- Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to ensure accurate medical documentation and coding
- Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient inquiries
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients requiring medical history updates or special care
- Maintain strict infection control standards through proper sterilization of instruments and adherence to OSHA guidelines
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical records management is a plus
- Familiarity with infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while following radiation safety protocols
- Strong understanding of dental assisting practices including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with children is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and healthcare providers
