Our hygienist recently had a baby and wants to work part time. We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our vibrant dental team part time or full time. Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal oral health for patients of all ages
- Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorations, extractions, and pediatric treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
- Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient health status before, during, and after treatment to ensure safety and well-being
- Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions with clear communication
- Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control protocols, including sterilization of instruments and proper disposal of biohazard materials
Skills
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation review and medical coding
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures
- Experience working with pediatric patients in pediatric dentistry settings is highly preferred
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and provide compassionate support
- Familiarity with medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and medical imaging techniques
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure
- Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and HIPAA compliance to ensure patient safety and confidentiality
