Lead a Growing Dental Laboratory
We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial Lead Dental Lab Technician / Dental Laboratory Manager to direct the day-to-day operations and future growth of our small dental laboratory in Heath Ohio. This hands-on leadership opportunity is ideal for a technically accomplished dental laboratory professional who combines traditional bench skills, digital dentistry expertise, orthodontic appliance experience, team leadership, and business development ability.
The successful candidate will have substantial freedom to lead the team toward predetermined quality, service, sales, and profitability objectives. You will manage daily production, perform and oversee technical casework, develop team member capabilities, strengthen customer relationships, introduce new products and services, and help build a scalable, profitable laboratory operation.

Key Responsibilities
· Lead, supervise, coach, and develop a small team of dental laboratory technicians while promoting accountability, collaboration, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
· Manage and perform daily dental laboratory operations including the fabrication, finishing, and modification of both routine and complex dental prosthetics, workload allocation, production planning, inventory/equipment, and on-time delivery.
· Lead digital dental workflows, including intraoral scan intake, digital case review, CAD/CAM design, 3D printing, file management, post-processing, equipment operation, and technical troubleshooting.
· Fabricate and oversee orthodontic appliances such as Hawley retainers, clear or Essix retainers, aligners, space maintainers, splints, night guards, and other fixed or removable appliances.
· Interpret prescriptions, treatment plans, impressions, models, digital scans/STL files, and case specifications accurately.
· Establish and maintain quality assurance and quality control standards for fit, function, occlusion, aesthetics, accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
· Identify root causes of remakes, returns, and production problems; implement corrective actions, standard operating procedures, and process improvements.
· Build productive relationships with dentists, orthodontists, dental practices, vendors, and referral partners through responsive communication and consultative service.
· Drive sales growth and profitability by retaining existing accounts, developing new customers, expanding share of wallet, managing pricing and costs, and monitoring key performance indicators.
· Evaluate, develop, launch, and promote new products, services, materials, technologies, and digital capabilities based on customer needs and market opportunities.
· Recruit, onboard, train, cross-train, mentor, and evaluate team members; create development plans that improve technical skills, productivity, quality, and customer service.
· Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and efficient laboratory while following applicable infection-control, hazardous-material, equipment-maintenance, documentation, and workplace-safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
· Progressive experience as a Dental Laboratory Technician, Senior Dental Technician, Lead Dental Technician, Dental Lab Supervisor, Dental Lab Manager, Orthodontic Lab Technician, or comparable role.
· Hands-on experience with digital dentistry and dental CAD/CAM workflows, including digital scans, design software, 3D printing, and digital manufacturing processes.
· Demonstrated experience fabricating, finishing, adjusting, and repairing orthodontic appliances and delivering routine dental laboratory services.
· Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, morphology, occlusion, articulation, materials, appliance design, dental terminology, and laboratory production methods.
· Prior experience supervising, mentoring, training, or leading dental laboratory team members.
· Ability to read and interpret dental prescriptions, laboratory work authorizations, impressions, models, digital files, and clinical specifications.
· Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, problem-solving ability, technical judgment, time management, organization, and communication skills.
· Business-minded, entrepreneurial approach with the ability to manage priorities independently and take ownership of results.
· Ability to work on-site in Heath Ohio.
Preferred Qualifications
· Certified Dental Technician (CDT) credential or formal education in dental laboratory technology, dental technology, or a related field.
· Proficiency with leading dental CAD software and open digital workflows, including 3Shape and/or Exocad.
· Experience with laboratory management software, case tracking, production metrics, budgeting, purchasing, inventory control, and vendor management.
· Experience in customer relationship management, consultative sales, account development, new-product introduction, and profit-and-loss responsibility.
· Experience creating SOPs, improving workflows, reducing remake rates, increasing capacity, and developing measurable team performance objectives.
· Experience with removable and fixed prosthetics, dentures, partial dentures, implant-supported dentures, occlusal guards, or other fixed and removable dental products.
