Duties
- Assist during surgical procedures such as oral surgeries, endodontics, and prosthodontics by preparing and passing dental instruments with precision and efficiency
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols, including sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
- Operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners to obtain accurate diagnostic images in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Manage dental records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft and Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and procedural notes in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies
- Support the dental team by performing chairside assisting duties such as taking vital signs, medical history updates, and explaining procedures to patients
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary supplies and sterilized instruments before each procedure while processing dental instruments efficiently after use
- Collaborate closely with the dental receptionist to coordinate patient scheduling, verify insurance information, and ensure seamless patient flow within the clinic
Experience
- Proven experience preferred but not required
- Working in a dental clinic environment with a focus on surgical assistance or general dentistry
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Salesforce for managing medical documentation and records preferred but not required
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures related to oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics preferred but not required
- Hands-on experience with dental X-ray technology including digital radiography and 3D imaging techniques
- Strong understanding of infection prevention management practices including sterilization protocols and aseptic technique adherence
- Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while maintaining high standards of clinical cleanliness and safety standards
- Excellent communication skills
