Overview

Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting optimal oral health. The ideal candidate is one who prioritizes patient care qualities and is eager to deliver comprehensive dental care. The position is around 32 hours a week, Monday - Thursday, 8:00 - 5:00. Duties

  • Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong healthy habits.
  • Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficient workflow and patient comfort.
  • Manage electronic health records (experience with Eaglesoft preferred but not required), documenting treatment details accurately and reviewing medical records for completeness.
  • Maintain strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures aligned with healthcare standards such as HIPAA.
  • Operate dental equipment safely and effectively, ensuring all tools are sterilized and maintained according to industry standards.
  • Support the dental team by assisting with medical imaging, dental terminology explanations, and patient care coordination.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality at all times in compliance with HIPAA regulations while fostering a welcoming environment for diverse pediatric and adult patients.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist in a busy dental clinic or healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental care procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques (dental imaging) and X-ray safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach tailored to comprehensive dentistry for the whole family.
  • Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry methods for optimal patient flow.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA compliance management standards.
