Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough dental examinations and assessments using advanced medical imaging techniques to diagnose oral health issues accurately.
- Perform a wide range of dental procedures including dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and endodontics with proficiency and attention to detail.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix to document patient information meticulously while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment during all procedures.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and preventive care tailored to pediatric and adult patients.
- Collaborate with dental assistants in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize workflow efficiency and enhance patient comfort.
- Manage medical documentation accurately, including medical history updates and treatment records, ensuring clarity and completeness.
- Stay current with advancements in dental technology and techniques to continually improve clinical outcomes and patient care quality.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental software platforms such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes.
- Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Strong expertise in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics (root canal therapy), prosthodontics (dental fabrication), and general dentistry procedures.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate communication to address diverse patient needs effectively.
- Ability to perform dental extractions safely while minimizing discomfort for patients of all ages.
