Dental Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while providing excellent patient care. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as the ability to maintain a sterile environment.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments by providing necessary instruments and materials.
• Prepare and maintain the treatment room, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and ensure proper imaging techniques are utilized.
• Document patient medical histories and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record system.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Manage appointment scheduling, including follow-ups and reminders for patients.
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in ordering when necessary.
• Adhere to aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures.
• Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and equipment.
• Proficiency in medical documentation practices.
• Experience with Eaglesoft or similar dental software is a plus.
• Understanding of medical coding and medical terminology is beneficial.
• Previous experience as a dental receptionist is advantageous but not required.
• Strong communication skills with a focus on patient interaction and education.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
