Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Experience with dental software such as Epic and Dentrix, as well as familiarity with orthodontics, pediatrics, and CAD systems, will be highly valued.
Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including orthodontic and pediatric treatments
- Take and develop dental radiographs using CAD technology when necessary
- Manage patient records using Epic and Dentrix software systems
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures and post-treatment instructions
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient check-in/out processes akin to a dental receptionist role
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment
- Support patients with medical terminology explanations and ensure their comfort throughout visits
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role; certification preferred
- Proficiency with dental software platforms such as Epic and Dentrix
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures
- Familiarity with CAD systems used in dental imaging or restorations is a plus
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate patient care approach
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks effectively
- Certification or training in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory
