Job Summary:
Dental Care of Muskogee is seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will provide support to the dentist and help deliver quality dental care to our patients. Your role will involve assisting with various dental procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for patients.
Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by sterilizing instruments and setting up equipment
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing other necessary support
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and trimming temporary crowns
- Provide oral hygiene instructions to patients and educate them on proper dental care techniques
- Take and record patients' vital signs, medical history, and dental charting
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical coding as necessary
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program required
- Current certification in dental radiography (X-Ray) required
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and procedures
- Proficiency in using OpenDental or similar dental practice management software
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well in a team setting and collaborate effectively with the dental team
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus
