Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and calculus, and applying preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to inform treatment planning.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately while adhering to radiation safety standards.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Practice Works, and Dentrix.
- Follow strict infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to ensure a safe clinical environment.
- Collaborate with dentists and other team members to develop comprehensive treatment plans for diverse patient populations, including pediatric dentistry cases.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times during treatment and documentation review.
- Support the overall operation of the dental office by managing inventory of dental supplies and assisting with general office procedures as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current registration credentials.
- Proven experience in general dentistry practice, with specific expertise.
- Proficiency in using EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Practice Works, and Dentrix for documentation and medical records management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
- Demonstrated ability to perform dental imaging procedures accurately while maintaining radiation safety standards.
- Expertise in infection control practices, including sterilization techniques and healthcare infection prevention protocols.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations, including pediatrics.
- Familiarity with medical coding related to dental procedures is advantageous but not required.
