Position Details
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday). Standard business hours with flexibility as needed to meet operational demands. Occasional evenings or extended hours during month-end, system conversions, or special projects.

Position Overview
Summary
In collaboration with the Manager of Patient Financial Services (PFS), Supervisor of Patient Financial Services (PFS) is responsible for leading end to end revenue cycle functions across general dentistry and specialty services. This role ensures accuracy and efficient insurance billing, timely collections, and an exceptional patient financial experience. The supervisor partners with payer teams and clinic operations to optimize revenue performance, reduce A/R, and maintain compliance. The Supervisor of PFS leads and develops a high-performing team while partnering cross-functionally with clinical operations, payer relations, and compliance teams to support organizational financial goals.
Responsibilities
Manages daily revenue cycle operations efficiently, effectively and collaboratively, including, but not limited to, insurance verification, major work, account compliance, orthodontic contracting, insurance receivables, payment posting, patient receivables and best in class patient experience.
- Expert in RCM, knowledge of PPO, DHMO and out of network workflows to manage KPI targets, outcomes, solutions with focus on overall operations and patient experience.
- Strong Denticon or equivalent PMS system, analytical skills to drive automation and efficiencies using AI tools for eligibility and claims management.
- Standardize SOPs and maintain documentation for teams within the PFS department to support coding, estimates, billing, payer contracts and Accounts Receivables and patient concerns.
- Align and ensure workflows in place for specialty services including orthodontic contracts, payment plans, oral surgery prior auth and billing and insurance exceptions by payers and related payment posting.
- Actively participate and lead in strategic decisions to implement optimization of systems to drive automation and reduce manual work, cross functional training and accountability.
- Accountable for using reporting tools to identify trends and opportunities related to verification and payer denials, over and under payments and escalation of trends for account resolution.
- Implement process improvements, automation, and best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce aged receivables.
- Participate in audits, payer reviews, and system implementations or upgrades
- Manage a team of ~25 or more that includes indirect and direct staff and remote staff.
- Provides leadership and mentoring to PFS teams to optimize patient and member experience, resource utilization and staff engagement.
- Supports the PFS Managers in optimal selection, engagement, development and retention of staff members committed to achieving patient excellence at every interaction.
- Accountable for teams’ performance with prompt, decisive action to address performance and behavior not in alignment with the company’s mission, vision and values.
- Assume the role and responsibilities of the PFS leadership in their absence.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in business or related field preferred or five years and more of relevant experience in healthcare management.
- 3–5 years of dental or healthcare revenue cycle experience, 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Requires broad knowledge of technical and subject matter knowledge related to dental revenue cycle functions.
- Some experience working in labor relations with union employees preferred.
- Broad computer experience; including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook programs.
- Relates to and respects coworkers, patients, customers and visitors and proven track record of building strong working relationships while fostering a cooperative work environment.
- Possesses the ability to work collaboratively across divisions and seeks to strategize solutions for business issues.
