Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Front Desk Coordinator to join our team. This pivotal role serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere while efficiently managing front desk operations. WE ARE ONLY CONSIDERING CANDIDATES WHO HAVE HAD SOME EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A DENTAL OFFICE AND WHO ARE ALREADY FAMILIAR WITH HOW DENTAL INSURANCE AND INSURANCE CODING WORKS. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a background in dental or medical office settings, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient service.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing assistance and information as needed.
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, and cancellations to optimize office efficiency.
- Handle patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate data entry into the system.
- Perform insurance verification and assist patients with understanding their coverage options.
- Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality.
- Assist with dental coding tasks, including familiarity with current codes for accurate billing.
- Support office management functions, including inventory management of office supplies.
- Collaborate with dental office staff to streamline operations and enhance patient experiences.
- Address inquiries related to insurance plans effectively.
- We may occasionally ask you to work on a Saturday (we close at 2pm on Saturdays)
Skills
- Proficiency in dental coding and familiarity with dental codes is highly desirable.
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a dental office setting is preferred.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for effective office management.
- Ability to perform insurance verification processes accurately and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Proficient in using front desk software and electronic health record (EHR) systems is an advantage.
