The Reconditioning Supervisor reports to a Production Manager and leads and supports a committed team of Technicians tasked with providing paint, paint-less dent removal, wheel and detail services. The position builds a team of expert Technicians, on-boards new team members, drives workflows, coordinates with vendors, directs the development of Technicians, and addresses performance issues. This role will cross-train as a Mechanical Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Communicates daily with Production Manager on staffing needs
Meets daily and weekly production targets
Resolves internal and external customer concerns in a quick, efficient, and friendly manner
Controls the flow of vehicles through the reconditioning process
Ensures Technician efficiency levels and RQC fails or cosmetic reworks meet or exceed expected Company targets
Motivates Technicians/reconditioning vendors through communication and shoulder-to-shoulder work when needed
Assigns workflow for Technicians based on skills and strengths
Develops and maintains strong relationships with cosmetic vendors through open dialogue and feedback
Approves labor and cosmetic costs based on set approval tier
Delegates technical, operational, and personnel tasks as necessary
Participates in and endorses all Dent Wizard training initiatives
Manages the job performance and career progression of assigned workgroup in consort with Corporate Training and Human Resource teams
Creates and maintains a safe, clean, positive and supportive work environment in compliance with all federal health and safety, regulatory, and legal requirements
Oversees the safety, usability, and maintenance of shop tools and equipment
Complies with and answers questions about Dent Wizard’s policies, procedures, and protocols
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience managing in either an automotive or lean manufacturing environment
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships
Credible and persuasive communicator and active listener
Excellent presentation skills
Must have a firm understanding of financial results and material costs
Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
Flexible, positive, coaching style
Computer proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s/Vocational/Technical degree preferred but not required
Advanced training or specialization in any of the services above
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
The starting compensation is expected to be:
