We are a youth innovation hub and run paid internships where mostly high school youth learn skills like 3D printing, product design, content creation, and A.I., apply design thinking mindsets, launch real-world ventures, intern with innovation employers, and are supported in our network until age 24 as they become tomorrow's entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, and technologists starting today.
About the Track
Made@Dent (M@D) is Dent’s hands-on maker and production studio. Denters design and fabricate physical products while fulfilling real client orders in our social enterprise. This track blends technical skill, client communication, and professional production workflows.
Ideal Coach Profile
The M@D Coach is a maker with experience using fabrication tools to produce items for others. They value quality, safety, client delight, and follow-through -and can coach youth to meet real-world expectations.
Key Responsibilities
In addition to general BoB Coach responsibilities, the M@D Coach will:
- Coach Denters to learn for the first-time and use maker tools, including: Cricut machines, sublimation printers, heat press, 3D printers and laser cutters
- Support Denters in translating designs into production-ready files
- Guide youth through client workflows, including: Conducting client meetings, Interpreting design requests and constraints, Managing timelines and revisions
- Oversee fabrication, quality control, and completion of physical orders
- Reinforce shop safety, material care, and professional maker practices
- Support Denters in documenting their process and reflecting on their growth as makers
- Prepare youth to earn Dent & IDEO U’s AI x Design Thinking - Early Career Credential
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience producing physical products using maker tools
- Experience teaching maker skills
- Experience fulfilling client or commissioned work
- Comfort managing multiple fabrication projects simultaneously
