We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Dispatcher to join our team. As an Emergency Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating emergency response efforts and providing vital support to first responders and the public.
Responsibilities:
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls promptly and professionally
- Gather essential information from callers to determine the nature of the emergency
- Dispatch appropriate emergency services such as police, fire, or medical assistance
- Utilize phone systems, GPS, and GIS to accurately determine locations
- Communicate effectively with callers to provide instructions or gather additional details
- Analyze situations quickly and make critical decisions under pressure
- Maintain composure during high-stress situations and practice conflict management techniques
Experience:
- Previous experience in emergency dispatching or a related field is preferred
- Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while multitasking effectively
