DeNovix is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Instrument Assembly and Calibration Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for assembling, testing, calibrating, and troubleshooting precision laboratory instruments. Successful candidates are naturally curious problem solvers who enjoy building, fixing, and understanding how things work.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble precision laboratory instruments and subassemblies following documented procedures and engineering drawings.
  • Perform instrument setup, calibration, functional testing, and final quality verification prior to shipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues discovered during assembly and testing.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and test equipment safely and effectively.
  • Record test results and maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
  • Inspect assemblies and finished products to ensure compliance with company quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, tools, fixtures, and work instructions.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Service teams to resolve issues and improve product quality.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn.
  • Comfortable using computers and common software applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:

  • Building or repairing personal computers.
  • Automotive repair or maintenance.
  • Electronics assembly, repair, or troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical assembly or manufacturing.
  • DIY projects, maker activities, robotics, or 3D printing.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment.

Formal manufacturing experience is beneficial but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate with strong technical aptitude and a positive attitude.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform detailed assembly work using small components and tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Salary : $19 - $24
