What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fire Extinguisher Technician position at Denny's Fire Control?
Responsibilities:
- To become certified as an NFPA10 Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician, and possible other certifications (to be obtained during training, paid for by company)
- Perform monthly and annual inspections of portable fire extinguishers & complete required documentation, in quality workmanship-type manner.
- Perform installation of fire extinguisher cabinets and portable fire extinguishers.
- Perform evaluations of site to ensure they meet the code requirements for spacing of portable fire extinguishers. * Dismantle extinguishers and examine mechanical parts, extinguishing agents, and expelling contents. * Replace worn or damaged parts, recharge extinguishers with approved materials.
- Exhibit effective customer service skills through communication.
- Complete and submit all paperwork in a timely manner.
- Maintain company vehicle inventory and cleanliness.
- Always follow and adhere to safety guidelines and procedures.
Required Knowledge Skill/Experience/Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current valid driver’s license and good driving record (required).
- Ability to possess a PERC Card (background check for misdemeanors/felonies), will be company-sponsored after hiring.
- Professional image, good integrity, trustworthy, with ability to work independently.
- Requires consistent verbal communication, ability to follow verbal and written instructions, with good judgement.
- Availability to work early/flexible hours, normally 6am-2pm (Mon-Fri) to meet customer requests.
- Capable of performing physical labor including carrying and moving equipment/tools up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk and climb up/down ladder and stairs regularly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
