What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Nurse position at Dennis Yarmouth Regional School District?
COMPENSATION: Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement located on the DY website.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Managing a comprehensive and coordinated health service program for students within the school setting.
- Implement mandated health screening programs.
- Manage the schools' medication program.
- Assess children for a wide range of physical and behavioral illnesses.
- Implement disease management education for children with illnesses such as diabetes and asthma. Process may involve children's families.
- Prevent spread of communicable diseases.
- Provide emergency care.
- Coordinate health service and education efforts with teachers, administrators, health educators, food service personnel, etc.
- Collaborate with parent community health care providers and agencies.
- Maintain comprehensive and cumulative health records for students.
- Write on the job injury reports for all staff members and forward reports to the Central Office for processing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in pediatrics, community health or related field.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Bi-Lingual is a plus!
- Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing License as an RN
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license as a school Nurse
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
