COMPENSATION: Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement located on the DY website.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Design and deliver standards-based physical education lessons aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
- Promote motor skill development, physical fitness, coordination, teamwork, and self-confidence through active learning.
- Maintain a safe and engaging environment for all students.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including students with IEPs or 504 plans.
- Use various assessment tools to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
- Foster inclusive practices that promote respect, sportsmanship, and cooperation.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to support holistic child development.
- Organize and participate in school-wide wellness events, including field days and fitness challenges.
- Maintain PE equipment and ensure proper care and usage by students.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and district initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field
- Valid Massachusetts teaching license in Physical Education (PreK8 or all levels)
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
Preferred:
- Experience teaching early childhood or primary grades
- Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching and social-emotional learning (SEL)
- Familiarity with inclusive and adaptive PE strategies
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
