Job Summary
Dennis Anderson Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead and oversee construction projects in Southern Maryland. This role is limited to Projects in Charles, St. Mary's, Calvert & Prince George's Counties.
DACC Construction Superintendents coordinate all field activities, manage teams of subcontractors and labor crews, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to local mid-ranged commercial construction projects and work with a Builder that has been a local staple for 40 Years.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage construction site operations, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, specifications and quality standards.
- Supervise and coordinate work crews, subcontractors, and vendors from Project Start to Completion
- Review and interpret construction drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical documents to verify accuracy and facilitate smooth project execution. Have a thorough knowledge of the plans and specifications of each project assigned.
- Oversee construction safety management by enforcing OSHA regulations and federal construction safety standards; conduct regular safety audits and toolbox talks.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of daily reports, incident logs, inspection records, and project correspondence for transparency and accountability.
- Maintain inventory control over tools and equipment, ascertaining that movable tools are returned to their proper location and all other equipment is adequately secured.
- Properly layout a project, making certain that the proper grades are followed and that the structures are accurately located
- Assist inspectors in their project reviews
- Attend, on request, all construction meetings for the purpose of discussing job progress and problem areas.
- Ensure that good housekeeping practices are observed and maintained by both DACC crews and subcontractors
- Maintain close communication with DACC Project Managers
- Scheduling jobsite deliveries
- Document daily project progress
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience managing commercial construction projects with a strong background in construction site supervision.
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling techniques including project scheduling and coordination of construction timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret and apply project documents
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and federal construction safety regulations; experience implementing safety protocols on-site.
- Excellent crew management skills with the ability to supervise multiple teams effectively.
- Must possess a High School Diploma
- Must possess a valid drivers license
- Must possess at least 10 Years working in Construction & 4 years of Construction Supervisory Experience
Preferred, but not Required:
- A strong carpentry background
- A strong background with concrete construction
- First Aid/CPR, OSHA 30 Training Certification
- Recommendations & References to projects completed as Project Superintendent
Pay: $75,000.00 - $103,000.00 per year
