Job Title Product Manager, Open Banking Overview: In the Open Banking Payments Product team, we are looking for a Product Manager to work with our technology & product teams to deliver Open Banking solutions that simply work. Open Banking is one of the pillars of Mastercard’s multi-rail strategy and a key new network for the future of the business. Our team builds and executes our strategy to build the future of financial Open Banking based services with a focus on convenience, automation and personalisation. We are a newly gathered team consisting of 8 Product People, who enable different areas of success of the open banking payments products: We have broad product responsibility, which spans creating and driving attractive commercial offerings, establishing proper AML and KYC setups, working with the Technology Development teams to define the solutions, as well as driving an ambitious country-roll out plan. We design and implement new features, run current products, interact closely with customers and prospects, we set the strategy for our solutions – in short, we own our products on an end-to-end basis. You will join an exciting, large and complex domain – and have excellent, skilled, and experienced products colleagues with you to further build the future of Open Banking payments. Your colleagues will be best-in-class developers and product managers, and we are supported by key functional units such as operations, business analytics, legal, privacy and compliance. Role: We develop our Open Banking Payment Products based on client needs, market opportunities and technology trends. We drive the vision for future development, investigate and qualify options, and ensure that all stakeholders know of and contribute to the success of the product. You recognize that solutions without distribution are nothing - and therefore your finest job is to be the enabler who makes sure your products succeed in a broad sense. You’ll work with a multitude of stakeholders within Mastercard, in particular Sales and Marketing, Business Operations, and the Payments API Engineering team. The main emphasis in the role will be on the operational parts of getting our products to market but with a good opportunity to also participate on a more visionary and strategic level in new feature development and customer engagements. Responsibilities: • Defining features and functions, development epics and high-level acceptance criteria for specific deliverables. Making sure that all teams needed have the input needed and that coordination between the teams runs smoothly towards delivery and roll-out • Take a data-driven approach to product enhancements, identifying opportunity areas and contributing to the product roadmap, prioritising work to deliver against key areas of focus • Improve our current setup to monitor the health and performance of the products throughout their entire product life cycle • Engage in client dialogues to learn about customer needs, insights and potential areas of further cooperation. Occasionally assisting Sales in qualifying leads and potential client solutions • Establish and follow scalable processes that help mature our products, documentation and stakeholder communication • Be the enabler of the success of your products and get other teams to contribute to the overall success • Lead by example with hands-on approaches to demonstrate product management excellence and share best practices throughout the organisation Key Experience & Competencies: • You have a senior commercial profile within Product Management • Experience in executing product strategy with a commercial focus • A driver of initiatives and a relentless communicator with a sound business acumen • You’ve successfully rolled out products and solutions in multiple markets in the past • Experience with agile methodologies • Excellent English skills, verbally and in writing • Willingness to learn quickly and adapt style and approach as needed to achieve business objectives Bonus skills and experience: • Experience with SaaS and distributed systems in a corporate environment is desirable • Understanding the Financial Services Industry, payment infrastructure and the payment ecosystem is a bonus, but not essential • Understanding open banking is highly desirable, but not essential We are a distributed team working out of London and Copenhagen. Occasional travelling is to be expected a few times a year. The role can be based in Copenhagen or London. We offer flexible hybrid options, and most of our team members are in the office 2-3 days a week. As we work in an international environment, Danish is not a prerequisite for this position.
