Job Description
- 0 - 3 years of related experience.
- Technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing protection and control systems.
- These systems are used to monitor protection systems in power substations.
- Technicians must have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles as well as computer skills.
- They use this knowledge to install, repair, and maintain protection and control systems that may include microprocessor relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, pumps, motors, etc.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying and associated devices.
- Perform calibration of various types of protection and control relays and devices.
- Assist in creating and maintaining protection and control documentation.
- Assist assigned project lead with field assignments Install, program, and maintain protection and control relays and devices.
- Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.
- 0-3 years experience in a controls technician or similar role.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs.
- Experience with AC and DC systems.
- Successful candidate must live within a reasonable commute to the assigned APC office location.
