Position Summary
Denali Universal Services (DUS) is seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Director to provide leadership for our Facilities Division, with primary responsibility for North Slope contracts and remote camp operations. This role is responsible for overseeing service delivery, workforce management, client relationships, operational performance, and financial results across a complex, people-intensive operation. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who can build strong teams, develop leaders, solve problems, drive accountability, and deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in facilities management, hospitality, food service, logistics, remote operations, or other service-focused industries is beneficial, but strong people leadership and operational management experience are essential.
Position Summary
- Lead and support managers, supervisors, and frontline employees across multiple locations and contracts.
- Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery in compliance with company and client expectations.
- Recruit, develop, coach, and retain strong operational teams.
- Maintain staffing levels and respond proactively to workforce and operational challenges.
- Build and maintain positive client relationships.
- Manage contract performance, budgets, labor costs, and operational results.
- Partner with HR, Safety, Finance, and other departments to support business objectives.
- Lead operational improvements, mobilizations, transitions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Travel regularly to North Slope job sites and other assigned locations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Hospitality, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7 years of operations management experience, including at least 5 years leading managers, supervisors, and large workforces.
- Proven success managing complex, workforce-intensive operations.
- Strong leadership, employee development, and performance management skills.
- Experience managing budgets, staffing, service delivery, and client relationships.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience in facilities management, hospitality, food service, logistics, lodging, or remote operations.
- Previous North Slope, Alaska, industrial, or remote-site experience.
- Experience managing multiple contracts, client accounts, or geographically dispersed operations.
