Department: School and Community-Based Services
Location: Anchorage
Employment Type: Full-Time | Non-Exempt | Bargaining Unit Position
Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour and up (based on experience)
Hiring Bonus: $2,000 – paid upon successful completion of 90-day introductory period

Position Summary

The Early Childhood Behavioral Health Associate (BHA) provides developmentally appropriate interventions and skills training for children ages 3–5 who experience emotional or behavioral challenges. This role works closely with families, clinicians, and community partners to help children build positive skills and reach their treatment goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group skills training sessions for preschool-aged clients.
  • Implement treatment plans developed by the clinical team.
  • Build and maintain supportive, therapeutic relationships with children and families.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, supervision, and trainings.
  • Maintain timely and accurate client documentation in the electronic health record (CareLogic).
  • Safely transport clients to and from activities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in human services, psychology, or early childhood education preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience working with children.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid Alaska driver’s license and insurable driving record required.
  • Ability to pass State and FBI background checks.

Additional Information

  • Union Status: This position is represented by Laborers’ Local 341 under a collective bargaining agreement. Pay, benefits, and working conditions are established under that agreement.
  • Work Setting: Services are provided in homes, schools, and community settings.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs, sit or kneel on the floor, and engage in play-based and physical activities with children.
