Duties
- Greet customers warmly, listen carefully to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document service requests to facilitate efficient repairs.
- Write detailed service estimates, communicate repair recommendations clearly, and upsell additional services when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and shop revenue.
- Manage vehicle flow on the lot, including parking, moving, and retrieving vehicles for service or delivery.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the service drive and lot areas to promote a professional environment.
- Support the service team by handling cash transactions, processing payments accurately, and maintaining detailed records.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, schedule appointments, and ensure timely completion of services such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, tire services, transmissions, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, auto body repairs, and other automotive diagnostics.
- Provide excellent customer service by updating clients on vehicle status and answering questions confidently to foster trust and loyalty.
Requirements
- Previous dealership or automotive service management experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair procedures including mechanical systems like transmissions, brakes, suspensions, air brakes, alignments, oil changes, tire services, and diesel engines.
- Experience with auto estimating software and auto sales is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience as a service technician or mechanic is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems is desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to move vehicles safely on the lot as needed.
