ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Oven/Finishing Duties
- Inspects hand tools, hoses, and equipment for wear or misuse at start of shift. Reports issues to Supervisor.
- Performs oven start-up/shut-down procedures when applicable.
- Reads shop orders to determine specifications (order number, part number, weight, resin, mold, vent length, etc.).
- Changes molds using hand tools, hoists, and forklifts.
- Ensure inserts, clamps, bolts, and other items are present and ready.
- Programs oven arm with cook time, temperature, water, rotation, and cooling cycle.
- Weighs resin powder and fills molds; installs inserts as needed.
- Monitors oven arm during cook/cooling; de-molds and inspects parts for quality.
- Completes finishing tasks (graphics, date coding, routering, flaming, pressure testing, vacuuming, submersion testing).
- Records production on casting sheets and enters into ERP System.
- Applies inspection sticker and records scrap/production data into ERP System..
- Transports products to finishing, cooling fixtures, or stock.
Foaming (As Assigned)
- Fills float drums with styrene beads and secures in kettles for steaming.
- Operates steaming equipment (tightens T-handles, attaches chains, inserts steam wand, monitors gauges).
- Removes drums from kettles using vacuum lift when needed.
- Spin welds drums, seals holes, shaves excess plastic, and ensures watertight finish.
- Stacks finished float drums on pallets and applies inspection stickers.
- Records production on casting sheets and enters into ERP System.
Open Flame (As Assigned)
- Starts, shuts down, and monitors open flame ovens.
- Secures/unfastens mold lids, removes tanks, and handles them with carts/forklifts.
- Observes and verifies tank quality (warping, voids, wall thickness, parting lines, debris) and reports defects.
- Installs fittings to proper tolerances and completes documentation.
- Provides mold care, including release and flange checks.
- Completes finishing per shop orders.
- Records production on casting sheets and enters into ERP System.
Blow Molding (As Assigned)
- Monitors blow molding machines and maintains quality standards.
- Reads shop orders for specifications and verifies needed materials.
- Inspects parts for defects (warping, dents, debris, weights, wall thickness, insert coverage).
- Records production on check sheets and enters into ERP System.
- Assists with training and may coordinate with Supervisors on daily tasks.
General Duties
- Maintains organized work area, production flow, and cleans regularly.
- Operates forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Uses computer system to clock jobs and record data.
- Works as part of the DHI Team, supporting production schedules in any assigned area.
- Projects enthusiasm and professionalism in all interactions.
- Complies with company policies and safety requirements.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Knowledge of molding and finishing processes, including Oven/Finish (primary), Open Flame, and Blow Molding.
- Ability to read and follow shop orders, safety rules, and instructions.
- Attention to detail to ensure product quality and compliance with tolerances.
- Ability to complete production records accurately (casting sheets, TCM entries).
- Proficiency with hand/air tools and basic mechanical aptitude.
- Math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Flexibility to cross-train and adapt to different production areas.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior manufacturing experience helpful.
Experience with hand tools, air tools, and finishing equipment preferred.
Cross training may be provided in Oven/Finish, Open Flame, and Blow Molding.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
None required.
Forklift certification, if determined by management.
Safety training as required by company.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to operate a computer, use the telephone, sit, kneel, squat and lay. Frequent exposure to elements such as odors, oil, fumes and noise.
Employee must wear required personal protective equipment, including hardhat, safety glasses with side shields, goggles/face shields, hearing protection in designated areas, Kevlar gloves, and/or other equipment as task dictate.
