Job Overview
DeMoulin Brothers & Company, the oldest and largest marching band uniform manufacturer is looking for an energetic, dedicated person to help create the best made uniforms on the market. Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with a lunch break 12:00 to 12:30 pm. There is a 15-minute break in the morning and another 15-minute break in the afternoon. Overtime is voluntary and is available at certain times of the year. Our plant is air conditioned. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Summary: Responsible for receiving, picking, packing, and moving inventory in a fast-paced warehouse environment requiring physical activity and safe operation around equipment and elevated storage.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graph.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must have valid Drivers License
Physical Demands: Safely lift, carry and move up to 75 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift. Climb ladders and work at heights up to 10 feet. Perform order picking from elevated shelving. Ability to maintain situational awareness in an active warehouse. Ability to safely perform duties in a dynamic, hazard-present environment. Responsibilities
- Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Conveys finished goods/raw materials and items from receiving areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sorts and places items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
- Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for stock items and distributes items to shipping area.
- Work safely around forklifts, carts, and moving equipment.
- Maintain balance and coordination while handling materials.
- Follow all warehouse safety protocols and PPE requirements
- Mark stock items with identifying information.
- Open bales, crates, and other containers.
- Records amounts of stock items received or distributed.
- Uses computer to enter records and process orders.
- Drives vehicles to transport goods between warehouse locations.
- Maintains inventory records and is responsible for inventory counts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
