The Democratic Attorneys General Association provides political and policy support to Democratic State Attorneys General and candidates in their mission to protect citizens, promote progress, and support civil rights.


Title: Deputy Analytics and Technology Director 


Reports To: Analytics and Technology Director


Salary Range: $99,000-110,000


Purpose: The Deputy Analytics and Technology Director is responsible for implementing DAGA’s quantitative and qualitative research strategy, including modes such as benchmark polling, tracker polling, focus groups, qual boards, message tests and voter modeling. The Deputy Analytics and Technology Director works closely with the Analytics and Technology Director to provide necessary research and data support to other teams at DAGA, AG campaigns and AG offices.


The Deputy Analytics and Technology Director position requires a high level of proven project management success and knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research modes. Experience in polling is preferred. Additionally, they must have the capacity to work collaboratively with other teams and outside vendors on complex research projects. 


Primary Responsibilities:

Project manage quantitative and qualitative research projects including polling, focus groups, qual boards, message tests and voter modeling to meet electoral and messaging needsSynthesize and present results from quantitative and qualitative research to a variety of stakeholdersCross-reference and synthesize public and partner polling to guide and elevate DAGA and AG campaign pollingProactively answer cross-departmental research questions and empower data-driven decision-making throughout the organizationDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with DAGA’s Political, Research, Communications, Policy and Development teams, as well as outside polling & analytics vendorsAssist Director in creating decks and memos about polling and messaging for major stakeholdersHire, train and manage Data Team internsOther duties as assigned by managerQualifications:

2-3 cycles (4-6 years) of quantitative or qualitative research experienceWell-versed in market research methodologyHighly organized, detail-oriented, and able to project-manage large scale projects in a fast-paced environment with multiple layers of stakeholders, both internal and externalDemonstrated ability to identify and select most important findings from data and then communicate results in understandable prose to a diverse, non-technical audiencePrevious experience hiring, training and managing staffExperience with politics and political campaigns a plusExperience with voter file data or coding in SQL, R or Python a plusExperience with ad-tracking software (Ad Impact,Big AL) a plusSound judgment, trustworthiness and the ability to manage confidential informationSense of humor and positive attitude

Compensation and Benefits:

    The salary range for this position is $99,000 - $110,000, commensurate with experience.
