Leading personal injury law firm is seeking a detail-oriented, organized and multi-tasking Settlement Paralegal who will be responsible for providing world-class customer service by accurately calculating disbursements and scheduling client appointments to assist clients with receiving their settlement offers as quickly as possible.
Responsibilities
- Review personal injury and workers’ compensation claims to identify and address health and disability insurance reimbursement rights.
- Analyze payment ledgers and subrogation claims for accuracy, disputing unrelated or invalid charges to protect client recoveries.
- Communicate directly with insurance carriers, subrogation vendors, and law firms to resolve outstanding liens.
- Prepare reimbursement estimates and negotiate lien reductions alongside the legal team.
- Manage online claim platforms (Medicare, Medicaid, and private subrogation portals) and stay up to date on changing policies and procedures.
- Ensure third-party distribution orders are accurately prepared and compliant with legal standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (equivalent education/experience will be considered)
- 2 years of clerical or administrative experience, preferably in legal, insurance, or medical billing environments
- Experience working with CRMs such as Litify preferred
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- High attention to detail with a drive to identify errors and advocate for fairness
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and outside contacts
- Familiarity with lien resolution, subrogation processes, or settlement distribution a plus
