Dematic has an immediate need for an Electrical Controls Engineer in our Customer Service Modernizations & Upgrades group. Candidates will have a minimum of 2-8 years' experience in controls engineering. Qualified candidates are proficient in planning, creating schematic and panel assembly drawings, working with PLCs (Allen Bradley and/or Siemens), HMIs, and VFD's, implementation and commissioning of engineering design projects. Employees can be based anywhere in the continental USA, however, must be willing to travel no more than 35-40% to customer locations in the USA.

- Participates in the design of semi-complex systems that integrate hardware and software.
- Provides support in semi-complex material specification, schematic preparation, bill-of-materials development, and appropriate follow-up.
- Participates in recommending ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
- Able to lead commissioning efforts for simple Areas.
- Provides Project Leadership such as completing forecasting (YLF and Scorecard), able to lead a small project with assistance.
- Able to provide technique critique of designs and project data.
- Performs important areas of standard professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly defined issues.
- Refers semi-complex, unusual problems to others.
- Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly defined problems.
- Seeks-out growth and knowledge in a specific technical area.
- Demonstrates the basic understanding of project execution principles.
- Independently run simple projects through the project life cycle, including all documentation and forecasting, referring unusual situations to others.
Education:
- Typically, BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree, where required. Certification may be required in some areas.
- Typically, 2-8 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.
- Demonstrates a good grasp of knowledge and principles of field of specialization and applies through successful completion of assignments.
- Successfully applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a particular area of specialization.
- Understand general flow and operation of standard customer facility layouts.
- Able to commission non-critical path work independently and troubleshoot basic programming and electrical issues that arise on site.
