Our company is looking for an experienced Property Accountant
PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT:
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:
This position handles most day-to-day accounting responsibilities – including both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, as well as financial reporting and analysis for multiple properties. Will assist Accounting Management with any special project requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Reviews, classifies, summarizes and records transactions in the financial management system, including journal entries, debits, and credits in accordance with required accounting standards.
- Maintains vendor certificate of insurance records.
- Prepares annual budgets with supporting documentation in various formats.
- Interact with subsidy providers for annual contract renewals.
- Reviews monthly closing procedures, including monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Other special projects assigned by the Director of Accounting & Administration and the Controller.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting required, Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
- Minimum three years of experience in staff accounting required, with property management accounting preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet and MS Office and QuickBooks.
- 3 years of experience with accounting, property management accounting preferred., 5 years for Senior Accountant.
- Able to work independently, self-motivated, takes ownership
- Detail oriented, able to multi-task and meet deadlines
