What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Operator/Truck Driver position at Dem-Con Companies, LLC?

The Operator/Truck Driver position is responsible for operating light equipment or heavy equipment to transfer, spread and load MSW, Clean Wood, C and D waste as well as driving trucks or tractor-trailers for collection services in order to ensure that various materials are transported and disposed of in an appropriate manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Operates heavy commercial trucks, tractor-trailers (including tankers)
- Transfer, spread, cover, load and/or compact solid waste or soil while operating excavators, loaders, landfill compactors, backhoes, tractors and skid steers as well as off-road trucks
- Operate general site vehicles and equipment, such as a compactor
- Performs required pre-trip & post trip inspections and provides required reports
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and vehicles
- Provides outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
- Pick recyclable materials from incoming loads
- Maintains all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs
- Wash, lubricate and fuel vehicles
- Carry out site grounds maintenance including; picking litter, mowing, weed whipping, street sweeping, plowing and dust control
Requirements:
Have a valid Minnesota CDL Class A
Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a valid health card and license
Ability to lift up 40 pounds
Driver must be 21 years old per DOT.
High school diploma or GED
