Class A Driver

Title: Truck Driver-Class A

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Dem-Con Trucking truck driver position is responsible for driving trucks or tractor-trailers for collection services to ensure our customers’ expectations are met in transporting or disposing various materials to the appropriate location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operates heavy duty commercial trucks and tractor-trailers
• Performs required pre-trip & post trip inspections and provides required reports
• Provides outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
• Maintains all required certifications required by DOT
• Adheres to all OSHA and company safety programs
• Maintains and protects all property
• Informs on-duty mechanic of any maintenance issues with equipment and/or vehicles
• Maintains various records and/or logs as needed per DOT regulations
• Fuels truck at the end of each workday
• Operates front end loader/ skid steer on as needed basis
• Aids in keeping Customer location and/or facility clean by picking up litter around site
• Communicates effectively with management, dispatch and all division employees
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Have a valid Minnesota CDL Class A
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a valid health card and license
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Driver must be 21 years old per DOT.

WORK CONDITIONS Outdoor environment; exposure to extreme weather conditions; work with and around heavy machinery; exposure to dust and fumes from motorized equipment; exposure to noise, odors and gases; exposure to heavy traffic conditions, possible exposure to toxic chemicals.

PHYSCIAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
