MCA Underwriter
We are looking to bring on an experienced MCA Underwriter to join our growing team. This role is for someone who understands how to properly assess risk, structure deals responsibly, and make sound approval decisions with consistency and accuracy.
We value strong judgment, attention to detail, and disciplined underwriting over simply pushing volume.
Responsibilities:
• Review and analyze merchant applications, bank statements, credit reports, tax returns, P&Ls, balance sheets, and supporting financial documents
• Evaluate stacking positions, daily balances, NSFs, negative days, deposits, revenue trends, and overall business performance
• Determine the ability of the client to repay financing based on analysis of cash flow statements, tax returns, income statements, balance sheets, and additional financial information
• Review credit reports and background reports to determine degree of risk
• Structure, price, approve, counter, or decline deals based on overall risk profile and company guidelines
• Handle final approvals for up to 5 deals per day
• Conduct merchant interviews and complete bank logins when necessary
• Review merchant background information, industry risk, site inspections, and additional due diligence when needed
• Analyze guarantor and ownership financial strength where applicable
• Work directly with sales reps and management to maximize approvals while maintaining strong portfolio quality
Qualifications:
• 3 years of underwriting experience in Merchant Cash Advance (MCA) or commercial business lending
• Previous experience as a Senior Underwriter or Underwriting Manager preferred
• Strong pricing experience with the ability to make independent approval and decline decisions
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented with sound judgment and decision-making ability

Compensation: $80,000 – $150,000 based on experience
