The Cloud Architect will design and optimize our Azure and Oracle Cloud (OCI) environments. This role focuses on bringing hands-on expertise to build resilient, cost-effective, and secure cloud systems. They should align with Delta Utilities’ modern philosophy of a SaaS-first, buy-over-build approach that prioritizes an efficient tool stack, and leverages generative AI to increase productivity and accelerate delivery.

Accountabilities And Essential Functions
- Design and implement Azure and OCI solutions for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Lead a FinOps practice focused on reporting, reservations, right-sizing, and resource optimization.
- Optimize remote connectivity for scalability, performance, and user experience.
- Build and execute a tagging and governance strategy for all cloud assets.
- Lead disaster recovery planning aligned with uptime targets.
- Maintain multi-year cloud roadmaps.
- Mentor team members and act as an escalation point for critical incidents.
- Manage vendor relationships with Microsoft, Oracle, and Accenture.
- Lead Architectural Readiness Reviews and publish updated standards.
- Conduct annual assessments of key solutions and maintain technical documentation.
- Use AI tools to streamline documentation and automation.
- Partner with cross-functional and vendor teams to deliver cohesive solutions.
- Simplify architecture and optimize network resiliency.
- Oversee Cloud Operations Teams including Azure, OCI, Windows, Linux, DB, and AD
Minimum education required of the position
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or 4 years of relevant experience.
- 5 years in cloud architecture and engineering.
- Knowledge of FinOps, DR design, VDIs, and multi-cloud network integration.
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert or OCI Architect Professional.
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert or OCI Architect Professional.
- Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop.
- Able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Able to operate a copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.
- Able to exert up to 10 Lbs. of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.
