What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crane Operator 3rd Shift position at Delta Steel, Inc.?
Load/unload or otherwise move inventory to/from trailers, rail cars, barges or warehouse floor through the use of overhead crane or other material handling equipment as specified according to work orders and by directive of supervision.
- Document and report inventory location changes according to specified procedures.
- Assemble customer orders according to work orders and procedures.
- Document, tag & paint inventory received according to specified procedures.
- Record pertinent material information on to work orders or other forms as specified by local procedure.
- Special projects as specified by management.
- Performance of other Warehouse or Processing / Maintenance Department tasks as required by the absence of a department member or due to the existence of a backlog of work.
- Adhere to all company safety policies & procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform daily pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment is in safe working condition; report and communicate any defects, concerns or maintenance needs.
- Recognize and report potential hazards or unsafe conditions in the work area to supervision.
- Maintain professional communication with other operators, supervisors, & departments as necessary to complete assigned tasks.
Experience in an industrial setting preferred
