What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Exercise Planner/MSEL Manager position at Delta Solutions & Strategies?
We are seeking Senior Exercise Planners / MSEL Managers to support Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) A7 training and certification exercises. This position plays a critical role in designing, planning, and executing large-scale joint and combined exercises that certify deployable combat wings. Duties will overlap between exercise planning and MSEL (Master Scenario Events List) development, so we’re looking for someone who can flex across both areas with confidence.
\n- Lead and support the design and execution of AFRC A7 exercises, ensuring alignment with USAF and AFFORGEN standards.
- Develop exercise scenario packages, including objectives, timelines, injects, evaluation criteria, and MSEL.
- Oversee and validate injects, ensuring quality and synchronization across the exercise.
- Attend and contribute to initial, mid, and final planning conferences, both in-person and virtually.
- Provide on-site support during execution as a controller, evaluator, role player, or data collector.
- Prepare and deliver daily SITREPs during execution.
- Support after-action reviews and deliver AARs, final leadership briefings, and Corrective Action Plans.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in military exercise planning (joint/Service component preferred).
- Strong understanding of Lead Wing and FE certification requirements.
- Experience developing and managing MSEL injects.
- Familiarity with AFFORGEN process and readiness assessment tools.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; able to brief senior leaders and coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
