Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of office areas, including desks, floors, windows, restrooms, kitchens, and shared spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
- Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning procedures, adhering strictly to chemical handling safety protocols
- Operate floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and other custodial equipment efficiently to maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Conduct manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy furniture or supplies following safe lifting practices
- Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap dispensers, and trash bags to ensure continuous sanitation services
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries
- Assist with light maintenance tasks when necessary, including minor repairs or reporting issues requiring professional attention
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques for various surfaces and materials is highly desirable
- Experience handling chemical agents safely and understanding sanitation standards is essential
- Knowledge of floor care procedures including buffing, stripping, sealing, and polishing floors will be advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and industrial vacuums confidently
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy lifting, manual handling, and chemical use
- Customer service skills are valuable for interacting professionally with staff and visitors in a courteous manner
