Delta Metals, Inc. is proud of the products and services we provide to our community, and we want you to join our team!Duties & Responsibilities:Operate ironworker power shears, grinders, metal forming equipment, and a variety of other welding equipment and hand toolsAnalyze plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of welding assignmentsFollow welding procedure specifications when welding and efficiently produce quality weldsPerform or assist with fitup and preparation of welds and with post weld cleanup, inspection, and repairCommunicate regularly with the Field Foreman regarding issues and concerns on the job siteComply with all HMT safety policies and programsReview schematics to ensure you have the proper equipment and materials; recommend supplies and materials that need to be orderedSet up your welding equipment on-siteHeat the metal using your torch and shape the material according to the designJoin the metal piece to the rest of the constructionFollow all safety protocols and clean up your workspace upon completionMust wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steeltoe shoes, ear and eye protection)Must maintain your face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven) Skills & Requirements:Applicants must be able to pass 2, 3, 4G plate testsMust have a working knowledge of welding techniques (Electric Arc, MIG, and TIG), tools, and equipmentMust have basic fabrication and layout skillsAbility to read and write in English requiredAbility to lift a minimum of 50 poundsA high school diploma or GED certificateAn AWS certificate (preferred)4 years Welding experience ORBlueprint reading skillsRequires the ability to use a phone and tablet to input data, such a timecard information, emails, etc.Bilingual (Spanish) a plus for this roleJob Location: 218 East Lathrop Avenue, Savannah, GA 31415Working Environment: Work is typically performed while standing, in a non-climate-controlled machine shop.Salary: Starting at $18/hourBenefits: Delta Metals has a generous benefits package to include Medical, dental vision, life, long and short term disability, as well as accident, cancer, and critical illness plans, HSA, 401K, Vacation & sick time, and 6 paid company holidays.It is the policy of Delta Metals, Inc. not to discriminate against any applicant for employment, or any employee because of age, color, sex, disability, national origin, race, religion, or veteran status.
