What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Technician Laboratory position at Delta Memorial Hospital?
Perform and review quality control.
Perform proficiency testing. Daily quality control, with lot-to-lot correlations. Calibrations.
Scheduled maintenance on analyzers. Troubleshooting of analyzers.
Troubleshooting quality control outside specified range. Document all corrective actions taken.
Ensure that proficiency samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples.
Collects and process patient specimens. Phlebotomy.
Process specimens according to policies and procedures. Identify problems that may adversely affect patient care. Report accurate and timely patient results.
Report, document and code critical values according to policies and procedures. Document specimen issues that may affect results.
Maintain patient results according to policies and procedures. Dispose of biological waste according to state regulations.
Insure that patient’s laboratory results are protected according to HIPPA regulations.
Lead Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist Serve as lead worker for the laboratory department providing a positive work environment and guidance for laboratory techs and student workers.
Assist the laboratory manager in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the laboratory department.
Assist with installation of new analyzers, perform correlations, validations, precision and accuracy testing as needed.
Assist with corrective actions and quality assurance of the laboratory department.
Supports and assist the laboratory manager with other duties as assigned.
