What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista (part-time PM shift) position at Delta Hotel Orlando?
Delta Hotel by Marriott is seeking a part-time Barista for their busy hotel. Compensation is based on experience. Must have open availability, including nights and weekends. Company benefits include 401k, employee discounts, and much more.
Essential Job Functions
- Learns guest’s names and uses them to address them. Remembers regular guests’ favorite drinks.
- Thoroughly and correctly sets up the coffee prior to opening and cleans at end of shift according to Auro and Franchisors operational policies and standards to ensure guest comfort and satisfaction.
- Does all necessary side-work as per schedule, this includes stocking and organizing all liquor, juices, glassware, paper, wines, cut fruit etc.
- Knowledgeable about all menu items and beverages served, their garnish, contents and preparation methods. Able answer guest’s questions regarding such with confidence and accuracy.
- Aware of all daily specials and “86” items.
- Greets guests promptly at bar/table within two minutes.
- Utilizes suggestive selling techniques to increase check averages.
- Has complete knowledge and skill of operating coffee machines. Is able to maintain their operation and prepares all coffee drinks to specification.
- Takes order accurately and follows proper procedures in completing guest checks and submitting information into POS system.
- Check guest order prior to serving to insure that appearance, temperature and portions are correct of any food items serviced.
- Serve guest order promptly according to service standards. Returns as appropriate to ensure all of guest’s needs are being met and to suggestively sell other items.
- Receive payment for all food and beverage checks and record all charge tips and other paid-outs as appropriate to ensure proper handling of financial assets.
- Pre-busses and busses all tables/bar as per standards and prepares for future customers.
- Performs all closing check list items as assigned. Cleans walls, floors, equipment, shelving and service units to company standards to insure maximum sanitation, cleanliness and safety at all times. Places all debris in appropriate, designed location.
- Take and know inventory at all times and requisition daily supplies as needed to ensure efficient operation of establishment.
- Part-time hours available (up to 30 hours per week); must be available during the PM shift, including holidays and weekends.

Experience/Education
High school diploma or general education degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.
