What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Assistant position at Delta Healthcare?
Assist with the day to day activities and programs for the Memory Care and Assisted Living.
Assist and lead volunteer based activities and programs that enrich the lives of the residents.
Must be able to meet the needs of a diverse population, both in terms of interests and abilities.
Expected to assist with decorating for theme days and special events. As well as break down the events and place reusable items away properly in a designated storage area.
Proven ability to train and motivate volunteers and fellow team members to provide the best in quality activity programming.
Will also be required to make small group presentations and take lead in orienting and training all volunteer associates in the absence of the Life Enhancement Director.
Needs to be actively involved with residents and perform a number of physical tasks, such as lifting, bending, twisting, and helping transport residents.
Must be friendly, patient and compassionate when providing activities to residents with memory loss/Alzheimer’s disease.
Should also be nonjudgmental and open to working with people of different backgrounds and beliefs.
