This is a high-impact role where your expertise shapes patient outcomes, supports revenue integrity, and strengthens provider documentation practices. If you’re detail-oriented, data-savvy, and thrive in a collaborative clinical environment—we want to meet you!

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our Revenue Cycle and Quality teams, you will:

  • Conduct concurrent and retrospective reviews to enhance the accuracy, completeness, and quality of clinical documentation.
  • Partner closely with physicians and care teams to clarify documentation, representing true severity of illness, risk of mortality, and complexity of care.
  • Lead CDI education efforts—formally and informally—to strengthen provider engagement and documentation excellence.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and collaborate on special CDI projects and organizational initiatives.
  • Analyze CDI trends and prepare insightful reports and presentations to drive improvements.
  • Utilize the 3M Encoder to determine DRG status and ensure compliance with coding and documentation guidelines.
  • Support denial prevention and resolution, including high-dollar complex cases, by collaborating with internal teams and payor representatives.
  • Foster strong working relationships with providers, health plan partners, and internal departments.
  • Maintain compliance with AHIMA guidelines, ICD-10 rules, and industry standards.
  • Communicate key documentation updates and insights through monthly summaries and ongoing feedback.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma required; advanced certifications as listed.
  • RHIT, RHIA, or CCS (required) with 3–5 years of inpatient coding experience.
  • AHIMA or AAPC certification maintained within 6 months of hire.
  • CCDS and/or CDIP certification upon hire or within one year.
  • At least 4 years of CDI experience with advanced clinical expertise.
  • Strong understanding of DRG assignments, ICD-10, documentation requirements, reimbursement methodologies, and complex disease processes.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to change, and maintain professionalism in fast-paced environments.
  • High proficiency in technology and EMR systems (Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Zoom, Meditech).
