Role Overview
The Wholesale Planning Manager will perform a variety of planning tasks that include inventory forecasting, demand planning, inventory buying, order tracking, shipment management and gross margin management. This role will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of information and follow-up from customer to production handoff with a focus on data integrity and accuracy. The incumbent will also be responsible for being the business planning liaison with Delta and external vendors.
Responsibilities
Sales Forecasting
- Own monthly forecast review by reporting and analyzing shipments, on order receipts and gross margin projections.
- Identify risks & opportunities on a brand and account level. Accounts include department stores, off price retailers, DTC and Amazon.
- Meet with business partners and communicate findings to leadership team.
- Updated corporate reports for external licensing partners on a monthly basis.
- Collaborate with VP of Planning and Head of Sales on budget forecasts
Inventory Management
- Create monthly inventory report to manage current Available to Sell, WIP and sales.
- Determine weeks of supply and need for additional inventory purchases.
- Analyze weekly selling data on existing replenishment programs and adjust forecast based on account needs taking into consideration weeks of supply.
- Provide accurate order forecasts for our internal & external partners to minimize excess inventory of fabric, trim and finished goods.
- Work with sales and production to place inventory buys after-market appointments to purchase fashion product and fill in to replenishment stock as needed.
- Partner with the Sales & operations planning team to maintain assortment integrity and alignment with the financial OTB requirements.
- Work with VP of Planning and Sales leads to project out inventory factory capacity needs.
- Execute quarterly SKU rationalization reviews. Maintain an equal voice in the product assortment & planning process.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A minimum of 5 years in planning
- Strong communication capabilities
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables)
- Extremely analytical, with the ability to pull key insights from large amounts of data
- Experience working cross-functionally with sales, buyers and planners
- Keen business judgment
- Capacity to juggle diverse tasks while maintaining focus on day-to-day operations
- Organized, reliable, detail-focused, and resourceful in nature
- Experience building NOS assortments or something similar
- Excellent rapport-building abilities
- Advanced problem-solving capabilities
- An entrepreneurial mindset is suitable for dynamic environments
- The ideal candidate is an energetic, forward-thinker who thrives in challenging settings
- SAP knowledge a plus
This is a hybrid role, with 4 days in our New York office.
PAY RATE: $100,000/yr-$135,000/yr
