Duties
- Interpret blueprint specifications and technical drawings to accurately assemble and repair furniture components
- Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, sewing machines, and cutting equipment to perform upholstery tasks efficiently
- Select appropriate fabric materials such as leather and other textiles, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on existing upholstery items, restoring them to optimal condition
- Handle heavy lifting safely while moving furniture pieces during reupholstering or assembly processes
- Apply woodworking skills for frame repairs or modifications as needed for structural integrity
Qualifications
- Proven experience in upholstery work, including reupholstering techniques and upholstery maintenance
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for quality craftsmanship
- Proficiency in manual cutting of fabrics and interpreting technical drawings or blueprints
- Familiarity with fabric materials such as leather and textiles used in furniture manufacturing
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, sewing machines, and other relevant equipment safely
- Knowledge of woodworking for frame repairs or assembly tasks
- Physical stamina for manual handling and heavy lifting throughout the workday
